Job Purpose
The Stock Controller maintains accurate inventory of raw materials, packaging and finished goods. The role supports procurement planning, coordinates incoming deliveries and liaises with suppliers to ensure materials are available for production while meeting food safety, quality and traceability standards.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor stock levels of raw materials, packaging and finished goods
Support procurement planning by reviewing stock, usage, production requirements and open purchase orders
Identify replenishment requirements and communicate these to Procurement and Planning
Coordinate incoming loads with suppliers, transport providers, warehouse staff and internal teams
Liaise with suppliers on delivery dates, quantities, specifications and delivery or quality issues
Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation; report shortages, damage and discrepancies
Complete stock checks and reconciliations; accurately record stock movements in ERP system
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, traceability and health and safety requirements
Investigate stock variances, maintain stock rotation and minimise waste and obsolescence
Support audits and continuous improvement across stock control, procurement planning and warehouse operations
Key Requirements
Experience in stock control, inventory management, supply chain or warehouse operations, preferably food/FMCG
Experience coordinating deliveries and liaising with suppliers
Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, purchase orders and goods-in processes.
Understanding of food safety and traceability requirements
Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work to deadlines and flexibility to work overtime when required.
Desirable Qualifications
Qualification in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
Forklift driving experience
Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
