Application / Solutions Architect
Cpl are partnering with a leading global organisation to hire an experienced Application / Solutions Architect for a senior technology position within its Dublin operation. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and modernisation of enterprise applications, working across cloud, integration, microservices and wider transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, data and business teams to define scalable, secure and resilient technology solutions while helping shape the organisation’s wider application architecture strategy.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end application and solution architectures for strategic technology initiatives.
- Define scalable, secure and resilient application frameworks and technical solutions.
- Support cloud transformation and application modernisation programmes.
- Drive modern architecture approaches including microservices, API-first integration and event-driven architecture.
- Support the transformation and rationalisation of legacy applications.
- Establish architectural standards, principles and reusable design patterns.
- Provide architectural guidance to engineering and delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for simplification and modernisation.
Requirements
- Strong experience as an Application Architect, Solutions Architect or similar senior technology professional.
- Previous experience within financial services or another complex enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud and hybrid-cloud architecture, ideally across Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Good knowledge of modern architecture patterns including microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
- Experience with application modernisation and cloud transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of integration, security, resilience and application scalability.
- Experience working with Agile and DevOps delivery environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Architecture qualifications such as TOGAF, alongside cloud or AI certifications, would be advantageous.
