QC Analyst – Laboratory Analyst - QC, Limerick
The Laboratory Technician – QC Support provides essential support to Quality Control Laboratory by performing sample receipt, aliquoting, tracking, reconciliation, and disposal of samples; and routine tasks that ensure smooth daily operations. This role focuses on maintaining compliance with cGMP standards, supporting sample handling, reagent preparation, and assisting with QC activities.
BSc in Analytical Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or equivalent)
Knowledge of quality control operations with an emphasis on analytical techniques such as immunoassays, quantitative PCR, chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, spectroscopy, Bioassay, Cell Culture, Virology and Laboratory Systems.
Demonstrated understanding of Data Integrity and its application in a Digital Laboratory.
Previous experience in GMP QC lab preferable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Analytical skills to assist in data collection and reporting.
Proactive and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
Responsible for Sample Management – receipt, tracking, reconciliation, and disposal of samples.
Perform Sample aliquoting.
Perform routine checks (e.g. calibration verification for pipettes) in accordance with established methods/procedures.
Maintaining sample management trackers and databases.
Troubleshooting and supporting resolution of sample management issues; attendance at daily sample management meetings.
Sample delivery to laboratory and liaising with the laboratory point of contact.
Organizing Shipping to contract laboratory.
Reference standard and control reconciliation.
Responding to incidents on TCUs, performing triage, and relocating samples as required (ad hoc/unplanned).
Reporting results into a computer storage system (LIMS), as well as performing testing using automated systems.
Involved in the qualification of analytical instruments and in their routine maintenance.
Following all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety procedures and involved in incident investigations as required.
Responsible for the maintenance of the inventory of consumables and supplies.
Responsible for adhering to, and improving, where appropriate, safety procedures to protect their other personnel and company property.
May also be requested to partake in or lead area or cross-functional continuous improvement projects e.g. Six Sigma or other appropriate methodology.
