Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist – Paediatrics (Speech, Language & Communication Needs) Location: Merton, London Role Type: Permanent Band: 6 Salary: Competitive The Role Cpl UK Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join an outstanding specialist independent day school supporting children with speech, language and communication difficulties. Details This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, providing specialist speech and language therapy for children with a range of speech, language, communication, and developmental needs. You will play a vital role in helping pupils develop their communication skills, confidence, participation, and independence within a supportive educational environment. Responsibilities Manage a specialist paediatric Speech and Language Therapy caseload Complete comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing assessments where appropriate Develop and deliver individualised therapy programmes Support children with speech, language, social communication, and functional communication needs Work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, teachers, psychologists, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews, and multidisciplinary reports Provide training, advice, and communication strategies for school staff and parents/carers Maintain accurate clinical documentation and outcome measures Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives Requirements HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist Experience working within paediatric or specialist educational settings Knowledge of speech, language and communication needs, developmental language disorders, autism, and neurodevelopmental conditions Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team Benefits Competitive salary Opportunity to work within an outstanding specialist independent school Supportive multidisciplinary team environment Ongoing CPD, supervision, and career development opportunities Opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children with speech, language, and communication needs Applying for roles If you are interested in this position, please get in touch to discuss further opportunities.
