Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist – Paediatrics (SEMH) Location: Milton Keynes Job Type: Permanent Band: 6 Salary: £48,226–£52,413 per annum (FTE) The Role We are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist educational setting in Milton Keynes. This permanent opportunity is based within a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) environment, supporting children and young people with communication needs and associated learning, emotional and behavioural challenges. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan and deliver speech and language therapy interventions that enable pupils to achieve their communication potential and access learning effectively. Key Responsibilities Manage a specialist paediatric SEMH caseload. Complete comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments. Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes. Provide advice, support and training to school staff and families. Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Maintain accurate clinical records and reports. Requirements HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist. Experience working with children and young people. Knowledge of SEMH and associated communication needs. Strong assessment, therapy and report-writing skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
