Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist - Surgery

We are currently recruiting for a Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist – Surgery to work on a temporary basis in Dundee, Scotland. Please see details of the role below: Role Details Role: Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist – Surgery Days: Monday to Friday Hours: 8am to 4pm Pay: £50ph+ Start: 3rd August 2026 Length: Until October 2026 Additional Info: PVG check required This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join a busy surgical pharmacy team in Dundee. At Band 8a level, you will provide expert clinical pharmacy input across surgical wards and departments, leading on medicines optimisation and supporting the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to surgical patients. Duties will include complex clinical screening and verification of prescriptions, providing expert medicines advice to surgical multidisciplinary teams, leading on medicines optimisation initiatives within the surgical speciality, supporting and mentoring junior pharmacy staff, and contributing to the development and implementation of medicines-related policies and guidelines. Requirements Current GPhC registration Minimum of 6 months NHS hospital experience at Band 7 or above Demonstrable experience in senior clinical pharmacy practice, ideally within a surgical or peri-operative setting Strong knowledge of medicines optimisation and evidence-based prescribing Experience leading or supervising pharmacy teams Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex clinical workload PVG scheme membership or willingness to undergo a PVG check Why work with Cpl UK Healthcare?
