Our client is currently seeking an experienced 14 Tonne Forklift Driver to join their operations team in Fermoy. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor or Shift Team Lead, this role is responsible for the safe, efficient movement, loading, and storage of timber products and log stock within a busy log yard and sawmill environment.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting production operations by ensuring a continuous flow of materials while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
Operate a 14-tonne forklift truck to transport logs, sawn timber, and materials safely throughout the site.
Load and unload timber packs, log deliveries, and other materials efficiently and accurately.
Support the movement of materials to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
Stack and organise timber in designated storage areas to maximise space and accessibility.
Complete daily pre-use inspections and carry out basic equipment checks.
Identify and report equipment defects, faults, or maintenance requirements.
Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and site procedures.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and a safe working environment.
Work closely with log yard, production, and transport teams.
Assist with general log yard duties as required.
Participate in training, safety briefings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Proven experience operating heavy forklift trucks, preferably 8T-14T or larger.
Valid forklift licence/certification or willingness to obtain or renew certification.
Strong understanding of safe material handling practices.
Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, or outdoor operational environment.
Excellent safety awareness and commitment to safe working practices
