Role Details
Role: Band 7 Cancer Services Pharmacist
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 9am to 5pm
Pay: £30ph
Start: ASAP
Length: 3 months minimum, with potential to extend (subject to a 1 month probation period)
Additional Info: Fully onsite
This is an excellent opportunity for a Pharmacist to join a busy NHS cancer services pharmacy team in Cambridgeshire. The role is split across two areas, with half of each day spent performing ward reviews for haematology and oncology patients and the other half accuracy checking chemotherapy within the cytotoxic unit. Duties will include clinical review and medicines reconciliation for haematology and oncology inpatients, providing pharmaceutical advice to the ward and multidisciplinary teams, and accuracy checking cytotoxic preparations in line with local procedures and governance. Previous cancer experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided on the specific responsibilities of the role. Please note that no additional training beyond this will be provided.
Requirements
Current GPhC registration
Minimum of 6 months NHS hospital experience
Previous haematology, oncology or cancer services experience preferred but not essential
Strong clinical screening skills and medicines knowledge
Ability to work accurately and safely when accuracy checking chemotherapy
Ability to work independently at Band 7 level
Willingness to work fully onsite
Availability for a minimum of 3 months, following a 1 month probation period
Excellent communication and organisational skills
