Global software company that develops engineering and infrastructure design software used to plan, design, build, and operate critical infrastructure projects such as roads, railways, bridges, utilities, water networks, buildings, and industrial facilities is looking to hire a Senior Product Designer with BIM / Model Management experience.
The role:
Working alongside the Design Lead ,the Senior UX Designer for Model Management will lead the design of complex, model-centric experiences that support infrastructure project delivery.
This role requires a strong, hands-on designer who can work across the full product development lifecycle, from discovery and user research through prototyping, validation, detailed design, and delivery. The Senior UX Designer will partner closely with product management, engineering, subject matter experts, and customers to understand complex BIM and Common Data Environment workflows and translate them into intuitive, high-quality experiences.
The successful candidate will bring strong UX capabilities, infrastructure domain knowledge, and a familiarity with BIM, CDE, and preferably ISO 19650 concepts. Experience with iModels, or related model-management technologies is highly valued.
Your Day-to-Day:
Lead UX strategy and design execution for OneCDE Model Management.
Partner with product management and engineering to define problems, identify opportunities, shape product direction, and balance user, technical, business, and delivery needs.
Conduct user research and usability testing to understand infrastructure professionals’ workflows, needs, and pain points and validate concepts with customers and industry experts.
Translate complex BIM, model-management, and project-delivery requirements into clear, intuitive experiences.
Map end-to-end workflows across model coordination, configuration, hierarchy, comparison, versioning, review, and delivery.
Create journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed production-ready designs, using low- and mid-fidelity work to validate concepts before detailed design.
Explore AI-assisted experiences that help users understand information, complete tasks, and make informed decisions.
Work closely with engineering through implementation to maintain UX quality, resolve design challenges, and identify risks, gaps, edge cases, and cross-product dependencies early.
Collaborate with researchers, designers, and subject matter experts across the Infrastructure Cloud team.
Apply and contribute to company design standards and reusable interaction patterns while advocating for accessibility, inclusivity, and user-centered design.
Communicate design rationale and recommendations clearly to product teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
Demonstrate strong craft, systems thinking, and attention to detail across the experience.
Experience:
Significant UX, product, or interaction design experience, supported by a strong portfolio of complex enterprise or technical products.
Strong command of user-centered design, interaction design, information architecture, workflow design, prototyping, and usability testing.
Experience conducting qualitative research and translating findings into product decisions.
Strong systems thinking and the ability to make complex technical concepts understandable and usable.
Experience partnering with product managers and engineers from discovery through implementation in fast-paced, agile environments.
Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, lead UX within a cross-functional squad, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Strong understanding of infrastructure, engineering, construction, or asset-lifecycle workflows.
Knowledge of BIM, CDE, ISO 19650 (preferable), and model-based collaboration, coordination, review, versioning, and digital-delivery workflows.
Experience designing AI-assisted or intelligent product experiences.
Familiarity with similiar products, iModels, iTwin, ProjectWise, Infrastructure Cloud, or comparable BIM, CDE, coordination, and engineering information-management platforms is preferred.
