Here at CPL, we are supporting a leading multinational medical technology organisation who are currently seeking to hire an experienced Snr Packaging Engineer for an initial 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex quality and compliance related initiatives within a global organization.
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Sr. Packaging Engineer to design, develop, and test packaging solutions that protect, display, and support the safe handling of products. This is a technical individual-contributor role with responsibility for leading projects, improving processes, and applying specialist knowledge to new and existing technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and improve a wide range of product containers and packaging solutions.
- Define packaging specifications based on product requirements, cost targets, legal and regulatory standards, and required levels of protection.
- Assess packaging performance against environmental and handling conditions, including moisture, corrosive chemicals, temperature changes, light, heat, rough handling, and tampering.
- Design packaging exteriors with consideration for product identification, visual appeal, branding, print quality, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Support packaging documentation, including controlled documents and records required for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Contribute to prototype line development and packaging activities within manufacturing or plant environments.
- Lead or manage assigned technical projects from design through implementation, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver agreed outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve packaging processes, systems, products, and overall performance.
- Provide detailed technical analysis and recommendations to support process improvements and problem resolution.
- Build effective working relationships with internal teams, external suppliers, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
- Share technical knowledge and provide guidance, coaching, or training to less experienced colleagues.
- Where required, coordinate project activities by delegating work, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring progress against project goals
Required Experience:
Degree in Engineering or related
10 Years design experience in Medical Device Industry
Class III experience desirable but not required
