This is a senior, commercially focused finance role — pricing, rates, margin, revenue forecasting and FP&A — rather than a traditional controllership position. It will suit an experienced qualified accountant who is used to owning the commercial numbers end to end and operating with a high degree of autonomy.
This is not a role with runway to grow into; the successful candidate will take ownership and deliver from the outset, working independently alongside a lean and collaborative finance team.
Team & Structure
The role reports directly to the CFO and works as part of a compact Dublin finance function that includes a Financial Accountant, Commercial Accountant, Senior Accounts Payable, a Finance & Systems Administrator and a Project Administrator. The remit is the commercial agenda, working directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Own the commercial finance agenda across pricing, rate setting and rate card management, ensuring commercial terms are applied consistently and profitably
Lead revenue forecasting and FP&A revenue reporting, producing robust forecasts and clear commentary on movements and risk
Drive margin analysis by client, project and business unit — identifying leakage, recovery opportunities and pricing correction
Own record to report (R2R) for the commercial and revenue side of the business, ensuring accuracy and integrity in reported numbers
Act as a senior finance business partner to the CFO and senior non-finance leadership, translating financial data into commercial decisions
Support scope-of-work pricing and commercial negotiation, providing the financial rationale behind client-facing proposals
Build and maintain financial models supporting scenario planning, new business initiatives and investment decisions
Deliver detailed variance analysis (actual vs. budget and forecast), with actionable insight rather than commentary alone
Support the month-end and year-end close, including journals, reconciliations and balance sheet review
Support internal and external audit requirements as they arise
Drive continuous improvement across commercial reporting, financial systems, processes and tools
Qualifications & Experience
Education / Professional Qualification
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline is desirable
Experience
Minimum 5–7 years’ post-qualification experience, with a substantial portion in a commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering capacity
Demonstrable ownership of pricing, rates and margin — this is the core requirement and will be tested at interview
Experience in agency, media, marketing services or professional services is highly advantageous — in particular rate card structures, scope-of-work pricing, utilisation, recoverability and work in progress
Track record of operating autonomously as the commercial finance lead, without day-to-day supervision
Advanced Excel is essential (financial modelling, scenario analysis, pivot tables, lookups, data modelling)
Strong ERP exposure, and experience with BI or reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) is advantageous
Comfortable presenting to and challenging senior stakeholders, including at executive level
