International Tax Senior Manager

About the role
We are seeking an experienced International Tax Senior Manager to lead tax matters across Ireland, the United Kingdom and selected European jurisdictions. Reporting to the US-based VP of Tax, you will work closely with finance, legal, treasury, transfer pricing, accounting and business leaders across Europe, North America, India and APAC.
This high-profile role combines hands-on compliance and reporting with international tax advisory, transfer pricing, VAT oversight, audit support, tax risk management and strategic projects. You will also contribute to M&A activity, global tax transformation and evolving international tax requirements, including OECD Pillar Two.
Key responsibilities
Tax compliance and reporting: Manage corporate income tax compliance across Ireland, the UK and designated European jurisdictions; coordinate filings with local finance teams and external advisers; support quarterly and annual tax provisions under US GAAP; review tax accounting positions; and meet local legislation, OECD guidance and group policy requirements.
International tax advisory: Support cross-border transactions, restructurings, intercompany arrangements and expansion initiatives. Assess permanent establishment, withholding tax, treaty and wider international tax considerations, and advise stakeholders on the tax impact of commercial and operational decisions.
Transfer pricing: Help implement global transfer pricing policies, coordinate documentation and compliance, support operational transfer pricing, and assist with tax authority reviews and audits.
VAT and indirect tax: Oversee compliance across relevant jurisdictions, review significant VAT positions, advise on new products and operating models, monitor e-invoicing and digital services developments, support audits and disputes, and maintain effective controls and documentation.
Tax risk and governance: Help manage enquiries from Irish Revenue, HMRC and other European authorities; identify and mitigate regional tax risks; strengthen control frameworks; and communicate legislative developments to senior management.
Strategic projects: Contribute to M&A and integration activity, financing and cash repatriation initiatives, global tax planning, business transformation and the local implementation of international tax reforms.
Essential experience and qualifications
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting, finance, taxation, economics or a related discipline.
Professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent.
Approximately 7–10+ years of progressive international tax experience, ideally gained in a Big Four accounting firm.
Strong knowledge of Irish and UK corporate and indirect tax rules, with experience managing tax matters across multiple European jurisdictions.
Sound understanding of transfer pricing principles and experience with tax provisions under US GAAP.
Experience managing European VAT and indirect tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Excellent analytical, project management, stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
A self-motivated and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable experience
Experience in a multinational services, technology, business process outsourcing or consulting environment.
Exposure to tax technology, process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
