Having recently commenced full-scale production, the brewery is already recognised as one of the most technologically advanced manufacturing facilities developed in Ireland in recent years. As part of this continued growth, we are now recruiting two Utilities Technicians to join the Utilities Operations team.

Please note: Candidates must be available to work a 24/7 rotating shift pattern and be able to commute to Newbridge, Co. Kildare.
The Opportunity
As a Utilities Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of the site's utilities infrastructure.
Working within an Operate and Maintain model, you will be responsible for monitoring, operating, maintaining, and continuously improving key utilities systems that support brewery operations, including:
- Water Treatment
- Wastewater Treatment & Recovery
- Chemical Management Systems
- Boiler & Steam Generation
- Hot Water Systems
- Refrigeration Plants
- Heat Recovery Systems
- Process Gas Systems
You'll utilise advanced manufacturing technologies and digital tools including SCADA, MES, SAP, Zaptic, and ManEx (Manufacturing Excellence) systems to optimise plant performance, improve reliability, and support sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Champion a strong safety culture and support all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Compliance initiatives.
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and optimise utilities systems to ensure maximum reliability and performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, environmental, water discharge, and ISO standards.
- Drive operational excellence through condition monitoring, autonomous maintenance, troubleshooting, and KPI management.
- Use data and digital systems to identify inefficiencies and improve operational performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen activities, Root Cause Analysis, and A3 problem-solving methodologies.
- Support commissioning, start-up, validation, and ongoing operation of utilities assets.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation, SOPs, work records, and training materials.
- Collaborate closely with Brewing, Engineering, Quality, and external service providers to achieve site performance objectives.
- Contribute to sustainability, energy-efficiency, and resource optimisation projects.
About You
We're seeking a motivated and technically capable professional with experience in utilities, process manufacturing, engineering, water treatment, brewing, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing environments.
You will be a proactive team player with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Technical qualification in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Brewing, Science, Utilities Operations, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years' experience within a manufacturing, utilities, process, brewing, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, or chemical environment.
- Strong understanding of utilities systems and industrial plant operations.
- Experience working with process equipment and utility assets such as:
- Water Treatment Systems
- Wastewater Treatment Plants
- Boilers & Steam Systems
- Chillers & Refrigeration Systems
- HVAC & Air Handling Systems
- Compressed Air Systems
- Process Gas Systems
- Practical troubleshooting and fault-finding capability.
- Good understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
Highly Desirable
- Experience within water treatment or wastewater treatment operations.
- Trade qualification with utilities or process plant experience.
- Brewing, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, or food manufacturing background.
- Experience using SCADA, SAP, MES, Zaptic, CMMS, or similar digital manufacturing platforms.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Continuous Improvement, or Manufacturing Excellence (ManEx) systems.
