CNC Field Service Engineer

An established and expanding precision engineering solutions provider is seeking a self-motivated CNC Field Service Engineer to join their growing service team in the West of Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working with cutting-edge CNC technology.
You will support customers across Limerick, Galway, and surrounding regions, delivering high-quality service, installation, and technical support on CNC machinery.
The Role
As a CNC Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Mechanical and electrical fault finding on CNC equipment
- Repair and troubleshooting of CNC machine breakdowns
- Installation and commissioning of new CNC machinery
- Performing annual services and preventative maintenance
- Liaising with suppliers and machine manufacturers to resolve technical issues
- Providing on-site technical support to customers in a professional manner
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- CNC and/or PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis
- Basic electronics and system troubleshooting
- Reading and interpreting system schematics
- Strong computer literacy
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- A full, clean driving licence
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Basic understanding of CNC code and ladder logic
- Level 5 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a recognised apprenticeship
- Experience working in a manufacturing or factory maintenance environment
