Role Purpose:
The Business Process Improvement & IT Department manages Enterprise Ireland’s portfolio of information systems, databases, websites, and online client services as well as a global network infrastructure. The department works with business units across the organisation on specific projects relating to procurement or development of processes and technology to support Enterprise Ireland’s operational and strategic needs. It plays an essential role in supporting how our business operates, driving business improvements through technology and managing risk.
Enterprise Ireland believes that continously investing in Information Communication Technology will act as an enabler for continued organisational change and improvement, hence a requirement for a high level of in-house IT capability. Decision making is increasingly informed by insights in the form of data analysis collated from data sources across the organisation. The role will expand our capability to make strategic and operational decisions based on up-to-date and accurate analyis of data from our funding programmes and other supports.
The successful candidate will be working within the existing Database team and will have responsibility for working alongside business stakeholders to collect, interpret and analyse datasets. Duties will include reporting the results to the stakeholders in the form of reports and dashboards as per their requirements, expanding upon and refining the existing data collection. They will also be responsible for integration and analysis processes, finding trends and patterns in the data, producing and tracking key performance indicators and creating visualisations of data findings using market leading data analytic tools.
Key Deliverables
· Collate, integrate, manipulate/transform and format datasets for more efficient data collection and analysis by enhancing existing and building new ETL processes for the purpose of interpreting and analysing data
· Combine external datasets where relevant to give a broader scope of analysis at national and international level
· Provide new insights and recommendations/trends based on analysis of Enterprise Ireland’s internal datasets to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its funding programmes and associated survey datasets
· Integrate datasets from disparate sources outside of relational data storage to provide access to new insights
· Modelling and predicting the demand for planned funding initiatives based on correlation with previous data
· Support the development of strategic dashboards with a focus on KPIs and tracking and predicting their performance over time
· Develop and support Database and Business Intelligence solutions to agreed specifications and timescales
· Ensure that the solutions developed are to current industry best practise and comply with internal standards
· Support end to end requests for data sets for analysis from internal business teams
· Participate in and/or lead the requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and support of data analysis solutions
· Collate the analysis into a cohesive whole, clearly communicating findings to Enterprise Ireland staff, the Senior Management Team and external stakeholders
· Assist in the execution of an overall Database architecture strategy
· Understand and work in an Agile development environment
· Creating and maintaining technical and support documentations complying with BPI & IT processes
· Demonstrate flexibility in undertaking additional tasks that may be assigned
Functional competencies
· Two years’ work experience of managing significant data analytics and data projects is essential
· A degree level or equivalent qualification in Computer Science or related discipline is essential
· Demonstrates in depth knowledge of SQL is essential
· Demonstrates experience in designing and implementing ETL processes using SSIS is essential
· Strong numerical and statistics skills are desirable
· Experience of data warehouse and OLAP Dimensional Modelling (Kimball preferred) is desirable
· Demonstrates experience of working with SSAS Analysis Service Cubes – Tabular is desirable
· Demonstrates ability to developing DAX Queries is desirable
· Ability to infer textual data and provide clear Data Visualizations and Graphs in reports and dashboards using Power BI (SSRS desirable)
· Experience in Python and R Language, Machine Learning and Developing Data driven portals
· Demonstrates knowledge of securing data sets using RLS and Active Directory
· Strong problem-solving skills in order to make informed decisions.

Salary Scale:
€43,907 to €63,295 per annum contributory superannuation
Rising to €64,816 by long service increments.
€41,801 to €60,223 per annum non-contributory superannuation
Rising to €61,668 by long service increments
Candidates should note that entry will be at the minimum point of the relevant scale and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Subject to satisfactory performance, increments may be payable in line with current Government Policy
