Financial Accountant
A diverse role overseeing the financial function of the business by ensuring continued business growth and driving profitability.
The Financial Accountant will support the management team through a range of tasks, with an emphasis on account and financial reporting while sharing their extensive knowledge with the wider team.
Key Accountabilities:
• Manage the Fixed Asset journals
• Responsible for the reconciliation of the balance sheet to include accruals and prepayments
• Process and manage the monthly accounts for the Schools Bundle
• Monitor the intercompany journals and manage the reconciliations that are required
• Track and monitor the monthly overheads in conjunction with the Financial Controller
• Manage both the Company credit cards and Clear spend to ensure costings are monitored, act as the main point of contact while taking responsibility to ensure they are backed up
• Process and reconcile the intercompany charges for the Schools Bundle and the Midwest
• Oversee bank payments and provide approvals where required
• Track insurance documentation to ensure that renewals are processed on time
• Manage the pension control accounts for Irish Life, Zurich, Peoples Pension and the CWPS
• Handle any management queries relating to the costs within jobs
• Manage staff loan applications to include seeking approval from HR and processing payment
• Assist both the HR and QEHS Departments with their monthly reporting requirements
• Manage the Relevant Contract Tax (RCT) Control Account
• Manage and maintain rebates ensuring that they are up to date
• Oversee the PAYE and PRSI reconciliations
• Compile the ‘Friday cash forecasts’ whilst generating month end reports and processing the reconciliations
• Journaling costs on Redsky between projects following the monthly review
• Process bank reconciliations for third party providers such as Unions, healthcare providers, etc.
• Provide support to the Accounts Payable team to include the invoice register
• Deal with any ad-hoc queries the department may receive from non-finance employees
• Support promoting a culture of excellent customer service by establishing exceptional working relationships with key stakeholders
• Understand the range and depth of the services provided by company with the eagerness to further develop your knowledge of the business and the services we provide
• Act as a brand ambassador and lead the Company through its ongoing expansion
• Any other duties as deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:
• Degree qualified, in a financial discipline
• At lest 5 years’ experience working within the industry is desirable
• Holding a professional accounting body membership is an advantage
• Payroll accreditation or extensive payroll experience is highly desirable
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel and proven experience of using accounting package software
• Strong understanding of financial and budgetary control
• Excellent analytical ability with exceptional numeracy and data entry skills
• Strong understanding of FM/Building (Mechanical & Electrical) services an advantage
• Proven experience in a similar role
