My client is sourcing for a commercially minded and ambitious, Financial Controller to join their team to help drive the ongoing growth of the business in Greater Belfast. Reporting directly to the CEO the Financial Controller will be joining a business with positive company culture and has shown significant growth in recent years with plans to double in size over the next few years.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts across the group P&Ls
- Managing the group’s internal stock valuations and management systems
- Completion of all taxation and regulatory returns
- Management of all grant claims to include preparing proposals and claim submissions
- ownership for monthly payroll processing, to include a review of work completed by an outsourced provider
- Manage the process of finance and ERP system integrations
- To be a key member of the senior management team and to influence the strategy of the group.
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out
- Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, insurance brokers, bankers, and statutory organisations
- Developing internal relationships with colleagues at all levels to support decision making with financial analysis
- Acting in a lead role to manage the ongoing Brexit transition process
- Managing staff in our finance and administrative team
- Producing reporting packs to the Board and Executive Team, including:
- Accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
- Providing, interpreting, and analysing financial information (for example P&L, cash flows, future trends etc.)
- Managing the annual budget setting process and preparation of monthly forecast
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years PQE, 3 years of which should include managing corporate finances within an SME
- Able to demonstrate strong business acumen, problem-solving and technical skills in financial accounting, taxation, and company legislation
- Experience working within manufacturing or recycling industries would be desirable
- Strong excel skills to include financial modelling experience
- Experience using Sage 50 and ERP systems
- Experience working with a Group of companies across multiple jurisdictions and currencies
