This role is a key position in the Düsseldorf office (Germany) to work with a portfolio of Irish companies to support them to win new business and develop existing business in the German speaking markets - resulting in increased exports for Ireland. The target markets are Germany & Austria and the sectors will include a range of product and service companies from the wider high tech construction portfolio.
The purpose of this role is to build export sales with Irish companies in the German and Austrian markets.
Key Responsibilities
The focus of this Market Adviser is to support Irish companies in building export sales in the German and Austrian markets:
- Help drive export growth by supporting Irish client companies already exporting to this market to grow sales.
- Work with Irish client companies with the potential to export to these markets and support their market entry.
- Contribute to the German team metric targets by assisting Irish companies to win new customers, deals & strategic partnerships in the market
- Build a network of buyers, stakeholders & decision makers in Germany and Austria that can be introduced to Irish companies.
Competencies/Requirements
- Fluent German and English
- Recent commercial/business development experience in the German speaking markets is essential.
- Direct experience in construction/ industrial sectors will be a distinct advantage.
- Experience with Mittelstand or SME type companies will be an advantage.
- The ideal candidate must possess a strong business acumen and the ability to communicate with executives from a variety of business disciplines (project management, R&D, engineering, procurement etc) and at various decision-making and management levels within a corporation.
- Have a knowledge and understanding of business development, good consulting skills and the ability to assess and challenge market plans of clients to help them best grow their business in this market.
Salary: 70-80k, Depending on Experience
