Now Hiring: Electrical Engineer in Galway (Hybrid)
A rapidly growing Building Services consultancy is seeking a Senior or Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join their Galway team. This organisation has expanded significantly in recent years and now operates across multiple offices in Ireland and the UK. You’ll join a collaborative team of Mechanical, Electrical, BIM and Energy Engineers working on a diverse range of projects including residential, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare and student accommodation developments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong Building Services design experience who wants to progress, work on high-quality projects and benefit from a supportive, flexible working environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering detailed electrical designs from RIBA Stages A–F.
- Producing design calculations, reports, drawings, schedules and technical specifications.
- Working closely with design teams and clients to develop project scope and technical solutions.
- Supporting BIM/3D modellers with coordinated electrical layouts and schematics.
- Designing systems including:
- Lighting & emergency lighting
- Small power & data
- Fire alarms, CCTV & intruder alarms
- MV/LV power distribution
- Cable containment
- BMS interfaces
- Managing your workload across multiple live projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Participating in client meetings and representing the organisation professionally.
- Providing input on design decisions and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- (Senior level) Mentoring junior engineers and supporting technical delivery across the team.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Building Services preferred.
- Minimum 3 years’ Building Services consultancy design experience (Irish/UK experience strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- Amtech
- Relux/Dialux
- Microsoft Office Suite
- BIM experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong understanding of Irish electrical standards, codes and building regulations.

- A proactive, collaborative engineer who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Must already be living and working in Ireland (local experience is essential).
- Candidates requiring future sponsorship may be considered if they are already based in Ireland.
Hybrid Working
- 3 days office / 2 days from home hybrid model (flexibility available).
