Maintenance Technician
Summary
Maintenance Technician supporting the setup, repair, and maintenance of process and production equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role focuses on minimising equipment downtime through effective preventive and corrective maintenance while operating in full compliance with EHS and GMP requirements.
Responsibilities
- Carry out intensive planned preventative maintenance activities across all manufacturing and production equipment
- Support production by ensuring equipment is set up correctly and maintained to minimise downtime
- Respond to equipment breakdowns efficiently, ensuring issues are addressed, eliminated, and documented
- Communicate effectively within the maintenance team to support daily operations and performance improvement, including structured shift handovers
- Ensure full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice across manufacturing, utility, and facility areas
- Apply EHS policies and procedures including contractor safety and permit-to-work systems
- Utilise permit-to-work and other safety systems to control maintenance activities
- Coordinate preventive maintenance execution with relevant departments in line with schedules using Maximo
- Maintain flexibility to support changing production and engineering requirements
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with the site Quality Management System
- Support FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ activities for newly installed equipment and systems
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintainability and support implementation
- Maintain asset management and preventive maintenance processes in line with cGMP and site SOPs
- Ensure spare parts and change parts procedures are followed for storage, usage, and re-ordering
- Execute and document unplanned maintenance activities in accordance with approved procedures
- Complete GMP documentation supporting batch activity, equipment qualification, and maintenance work
- Utilise electronic systems such as Maximo and Training Manager for documentation and handovers
- Provide technical support to production teams for machine maintenance and troubleshooting
Requirements
- Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical discipline and/or a Diploma in Engineering
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong technical writing capability for GMP documentation
- Good knowledge of GMP, HPRA, FDA regulatory requirements, and health and safety legislation
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Good computer skills and experience using electronic maintenance and training systems
