ManageEngine Applications Manager (AppMan) Application resource:
Seeking a skilled Applications Manager Upgrade Specialist to oversee the planning, execution, and support of upgrades for ManageEngine Applications Manager (AppMan). This role is critical in maintaining the availability, security, and performance of the application by ensuring timely updates and smooth version transitions.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, test, and implement upgrades of ManageEngine Applications Manager across environments (Dev, QA, Prod).
•
Coordinate with stakeholders to determine upgrade timelines, impact assessments, and rollback strategies.
•
Review ManageEngine release notes, assess compatibility and dependencies with OS, databases, and plugins.
•
Perform pre-upgrade backups, data integrity checks, and configuration exports to safeguard against data loss.
•
Install and validate new versions or patches, ensuring minimal service disruption.
•
Troubleshoot and resolve post-upgrade issues, including performance anomalies and plugin reconfigurations.
•
Maintain upgrade documentation, including version history, system configurations, and change logs.
•
Work with ManageEngine support to resolve technical issues related to the upgrade.
•
Automate upgrade tasks where applicable using scripts (PowerShell, Shell, Python).
•
Provide training and handover documentation to support staff post-upgrade.
•
Collaborate with InfoSec teams to ensure the upgraded version meets security and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications:
•
5+ years of experience with enterprise application administration or upgrades. (preferred experience in AppMan upgrade in the past)
•
Hands-on experience with ManageEngine Applications Manager, including version migration and configuration.
•
Solid understanding of infrastructure components: Windows/Linux servers, PostgreSQL/MSSQL, SNMP, WMI.
•
Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex application-level issues.
•
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
