About the Role:
- As a Radio Radar Technician (RRT), you will maintain, repair, and provide operational support for critical communications, radar, and electronic navigation systems on Naval Service vessels and shore-based facilities.
 - In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the readiness and operational efficiency of naval systems, supporting vital operations at sea and on land.
 - Leading Radio Radar Technicians (L/RRTs) will be trained to assume the responsibilities of Petty Officers (PO), managing the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of all onboard communication and navigation equipment.
 - The role will also involve participating in emergency response and damage control duties, including firefighting and other exercises.
 
Requirements:
- Citizenship: Irish citizen or legally entitled to work in Ireland
 - Character & Fitness: Must meet medical, physical, and security clearance standards
 - Age: 18-39 years on the date of application
 - Qualifications (or national equivalent):
- B. Eng in Electronic Engineering (HETAC Level 7)
 - B. Eng in Marine Electrotechnology (HETAC Level 7)
 - B. Eng Ordinary Degree in Electronic Engineering – Military Communication Systems (Carlow)
 - Or a national equivalent, subject to review and approval by the Naval Service
 
 
Salary & Benefits:
- Basic salary: €49,543 with annual increments
 - Naval Service Allowance: €20,570
 - Additional allowances for overseas service: Starting at €15,000
 
Please note: You will be based at the Naval Base, Haulbowline, Cork. The recruitment process includes a Fitness Test, Interview, Medical Examination and Garda Vetting. All assessments are conducted at the Naval Base, Haulbowline, Cork.
