Payroll Supervisor
Location: Nenagh, Co. Tipperary
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our HR team in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. This is a key role responsible for delivering best-in-class payroll services to employees based in Ireland and across international locations.
The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for the Irish payroll function, support selected EMEA payrolls, and lead the Ireland E&Y audit. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, full compliance with local tax and employment legislation, and effective coordination between HR and Finance.
This role requires strong leadership, deep technical payroll expertise, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. You will work with a high level of autonomy and accountability while delivering exceptional customer service with meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and support the Irish payroll function and selected EMEA payrolls
· Act as primary owner for the Ireland payroll audit
· Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation
· Maintain full compliance with local tax, employment legislation, and internal controls
· Support and guide employees on local policies, benefit plans, and benefit eligibility
· Conduct regular audits of payroll documentation to ensure regulatory compliance
· Prepare and review payroll journals and reports
· Partner closely with HR and Finance to ensure seamless payroll operations
· Drive payroll process improvements, automation, and system enhancements
· Participate in projects including system implementations, process reviews, testing, and innovation initiatives
· Support cross-functional goals, KPIs, budgets, and quality standards
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
· 5–10 years’ payroll experience, including international/overseas exposure
· IPASS qualification (desirable)
· Strong working knowledge of Workday and ADP Celergo
· Experience managing multi-entity payrolls with 200+ employees
· Hands-on experience with:
o Payroll journals
o SARP
o RSUs
o Employee benefits
· Proven experience in payroll compliance, auditing, and controls
· Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
· A proactive approach to continuous improvement and customer service
