In partnership with our client, CPL is currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer in Co. Armagh.
About the Procurement Officer Job
Due to continued growth, the Procurement Officer role is a new position within the company. The Procurement Officer will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, products and services, negotiating contracts and ensuring that approved purchase are cost effective and of high quality.
Main Responsibilities
- Management and reporting of supplier delivery performance, including stock levels,
- Sourcing and establishing new suppliers to enhance current supply base,
- Negotiate and agree material prices with suppliers,
- Develop effective strategic procurement solutions to support company growth,
- Ensure strong business processes are in place to manage new supplier relationships,
- Provide efficient and accurate administration support to the procurement function,
- Develop supplier SLA's, taking responsibility for products that have not met the required standard,
- Relay strategic objectives and production targets to suppliers through monthly updates and bi-annual site meetings,
- Work efficiently with Engineering and R&D for new product development,
- Visit suppliers as and when required,
- Place purchase orders for production and general consumables using MRP system,
- Management of purchase orders from order placement to delivery to Stores,
- Maintain accurate purchase order data, including delivery dates, prices, and elevating delays to relevant stakeholders,
- Utilise stock management system to provide forecasted demand and order scheduling,
- Maintain all documentation for the purpose of auditing,
Criteria
- 2-3 years relevant experience of procurement within the manufacturing / engineering industry,
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualification or equivalent or actively working towards qualification,
- Good negotiation skills,
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365
