We have a number of opportunities for Project Managers and Project Engineers with a Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services or Architectural or similar discipline for a state organisation working on hospital and health facility PPP projects.

Salary; €50,000 - €60,000 plus
Annual Leave 30 days plus 9 bank holidays
Working hours; circa 39 weekly
Role; Your role is to Provide services as appropriate in the development and execution of major capital projects including public private partnerships (PPPs) and to plan and supervise the execution of these projects
Will include; procurement, development, operation and maintenance of physical infrastructure – including buildings, plant and equipment.
These services include; design, specification, project management, supervision and procurement associated with major and minor capital building and refurbishment works including public private partnerships (PPP), PPP Contract management, risk and asset management, property services, maintenance of health care facilities, fire and infrastructural safety issues, etc.
Duties will include;
Provide assistance in supporting the delivery of public private partnership (PPP) projects
Participating in all stages of PPP projects development, procurement, construction and contract management.
Attending sites during the development, procurement and construction stages to ensure carry out inspections and monitoring visits.
Supporting local offices in managing local site development and works such as site enabling works, surveys etc.
Assisting in the management of local stakeholder engagement throughout the project.
Assist in the reviewing of PPPCo. facilities management reports during the operations phase for each PPP location and attending monthly meetings of the national team to review performance and deductions that may be required.
Managing monthly meetings as required for each PPP location with service staff and PPPCo. representatives to review issues surrounding PPPCo. services delivery.
Overseeing small works projects undertaken by PPPCo.
Participating in periodic reviews required of insurance, utilities consumption, benchmarking and market testing of PPPCo. services.
Undertaking annual reviews of all site specific service delivery plans and ensure updating and remedial actions are taken as necessary.
Plan and supervise the execution of major & minor capital works throughout the area of responsibility this is in addition to managing specific Minor & Major projects within the program:
Prepare budgets for the carrying out of the proposed Minor & Major Capital work programmes and ensuring that projects are within agreed budgets.• Supervise staff and contractors in the implementation of the agreed programme.
Prepare in consultation with appropriate officers and advisers, programmes for the maintenance of buildings, services, and equipment (under their control):
Defining in accordance with overall guidelines, maintenance requirements of all buildings, services, equipment, major & minor capital works, fire precautions and risk management schemes and proposing priorities in the allocation of resources.
Draw up, or in appropriate circumstances, to arrange for the development of plans and contract arrangements for the implementation of approved maintenance programmes:
Ensure that buildings, services, and equipment under their control are adequately maintained in accordance with approved maintenance programmes.
Assist in defining requirements for all equipment and building especially in seeking ease of maintenance and operation.
Ensure that adequate fire prevention and safety measures and standards are devised and applied in association with Fire & Safety Officer:
Evaluate environmental infrastructural risk issues & develop procedures to manage risks.
Evaluate the intended performance and operation of healthcare buildings, their actual performance, and to seek continuous improvement through investigation, communication, training, maintenance and review procedures.
Provide advice on the efficient use of energy and work with service personnel and other personnel and advisors on the efficient use of energy in premises
To be considered you will have
Hold a Level 8 (or higher) relevant Engineering discipline
Have had at least 3 years’ satisfactory experience in the construction or maintenance of buildings or in the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical and heating services of such buildings.
Possess a high standard of technical training and experience.
Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and of administrative capacity) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
