Senior Buyer
Working with my Cork-based client, I’m seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead and develop the company’s procurement function.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to support operational needs.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure consistent availability of required materials and goods.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to align supply plans with project and budget timelines.
- Analyse inventory data to manage reorder levels and optimize stock control.
- Oversee the resolution of any procurement or inventory discrepancies.
- Support internal teams in managing purchase orders and closing procurement activities.
- Maintain efficient warehouse organization and space utilization.
- Build and sustain strong supplier relationships while ensuring value and reliability.
- Participate in cost control and process improvement initiatives.
- Track supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the supply chain function.
- Provide regular reporting and updates on material usage and procurement performance.
Person Specification
- Qualification in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and administrative skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and familiar with ERP/procurement systems.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative approach to continuous improvement.
