Senior IT Project Manager
Location: On-Site Dublin City
Salary per year: €74,701

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior IT Project Manager in the IT Department which is part of the Corporate Services Directorate.
The IT Department provides support across all aspects of operations, with teams focused on a number of areas: IT Project and Business System Programmes (PMO), Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance, IT Operations including IT Helpdesk, IT Governance, IT Change Management, and Cyber and Information Security.
Reporting to the PMO (Business Systems Manager, and Portfolio Manager), the successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of the ICT Strategy and customer centric digital services

Role:
Lead the planning and execution of a large-scale programme, ensuring alignment with IT and business strategy and goals.
Accountable for coordinating project management activities with the Vendor Project Manager (PMv) and agreeing project management fundamentals (PDQ process).
Oversee and manage the PMv and accountable PMv duties ensuring security, compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
Oversee and manage project delivery to completion including testing and quality assurance.
Support UAT Lead to complete UAT, assisting with the scheduling of SME availability to execute UAT plans.
Coordinate planning and management of cross-functional teams and multiple functions.
Manage business readiness, transition and deployment plans.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders, providing clear communication and reporting.
Establish and oversee detailed programme plans, including milestones, timelines, budgets, and resource plans with vendor.
Facilitate weekly project meetings while tracking milestones.
Assist PMv to resolve blockers and escalate issues as needed.
Monitor and report on progress, resolving issues and managing risks proactively.
Ensure effective governance by adhering to steering committees, reporting forums, and governance frameworks.
Manage and support change management initiatives while adhering to the companies change request process.
Accountable for project board reporting, CAB representation and ITSC preparation and approvals.
Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle.
Coordinates release planning and deployment strategy with PMv.
Oversee and manage the tracking of issues arising during hypercare.
To ensure that activity peaks within the Department are addressed in a proactive manner, it is expected that the candidate appointed to this role will need to be flexible in terms of working hours during these periods.
The knowledge and skills required include but are not limited to the following:
Strong understanding of project and programme management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Waterfall, Agile).
Experience with resource planning, plan execution, and reporting.
Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in complex environments.
Ability to lead and motivate others and collaborate with senior management.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
A degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 8 or greater) or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as IT, Computer Science, Project Management or a related field.
A minimum of seven years directly relevant experience working in a PMO managing IT system delivery projects/programmes.
Experience in delivery within an ICT multi-vendor model, and management of vendors interdependencies.
Experience in stakeholder management involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders with complex interdependencies.
Relevant professional project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. ClickUp).
Demonstrated understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks (Agile, Waterfall), with the ability to embed principles into the delivery process.
Strong communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to communicate complex business and technology concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Experience in delivering Microsoft based systems.
Experience in delivering large integrated systems.
Knowledge/Experience of working in the Public Sector.
Experience or knowledge of delivering positive customer experiences.
