Senior Occupational Therapist – Stroke Early Supported Discharge Acute Hospital, South Dublin
Cpl Healthcare in partnership with a leading acute hospital in South Dublin are recruiting for a Senior Occupational Therapist to work as part of a multi-disciplinary Early Supported Discharge (ESD) Stroke Team and play a pivotal role in transforming stroke rehabilitation.
As an integral member, you will provide specialized occupational therapy interventions in patients' homes, facilitating their recovery and independence and empower stroke survivors to regain functional skills and improve their quality of life in the comfort of their own homes.
You will work as part of the wider stroke team and will work closely with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation.
The role will be based in an acute hospital and will also involve carrying out stroke specific assessment and rehabilitation within the patient’s home or outpatients department as appropriate.
As a Senior OT, you will be responsible for:
•Driving early discharge of suitable patients and contribute towards improving patient functional and quality of life outcomes and reducing readmission rates.
•Lead research and evidence based practice within the ESD occupational therapy service.
•Maintain strong links and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
•Contribute to the ongoing review and development of the ESD service alongside colleagues

Candidates interested in the role must have:
•A recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist and ideally current CORU registration or in process of same.
•A minimum of 3 years full time (or equivalent) post qualification experience, including a minimum of one year full time (or equivalent) recent experience in acute stroke care/stroke rehabilitation/ESD
•Experience in the supervision of junior occupational therapists and/or students and/or therapy assistants.
•Hold a full driver’s license and access to own transport
