Software Engineer (C#, Java, Server-Side Development)

About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong skills in C#, Java, and server-side development to join a global fintech company.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing robust server-side products that power secure, scalable business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
· Understand and respond to customer needs and requirements, delivering effective technical solutions
· Design and develop server-side applications using C#, Java, and web technologies
· Work with database technologies to build efficient and reliable back-end systems
· Identify opportunities to improve processes and simplify existing methods
· Analyse problems and evaluate potential solutions, communicating findings clearly and concisely
· Collaborate with team members to ensure deliverables are technically accurate and delivered on time
· Contribute to project planning, estimation, and progress tracking
· Participate in software deployment activities and provide production support as required
· Assist with mentoring junior developers and supporting team development
· Contribute to recruitment and onboarding activities, including technical interviews
Essential Skills & Experience
· BSc or MSc in Computer Science (or equivalent experience in software development)
· Strong commercial experience developing in C#, Java, or another object-oriented programming language
· Proven experience in server-side product development
· Good understanding of database design and development
· Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, refactoring, and design patterns
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively under pressure
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
· Eligible to work in the UK on a full-time, permanent basis
Desirable Skills
· Experience in a senior or lead role within a software development team
· Knowledge of web client development, including HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
· Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
