Business Development Manager Environment Testing
Location: Ireland
Role Summary
Responsible for delivering revenue targets and driving sustainable growth across environmental testing services in Ireland. Manages the full business development cycle—from lead generation and tendering to contract award and handover to operations. Builds strong customer relationships and supports strategic sales planning
Key Responsibilities
- Grow market share in wastewater, drinking water, soil, air, and asbestos testing.
- Support annual sales strategy, sales budgeting, and pricing decisions.
- Identify leads, build a strong pipeline, and convert opportunities.
- Manage key accounts; identify service improvement and cross-selling opportunities.
- Monitor market trends and develop actions to capture new business.
- Collaborate with marketing on promotional materials and branding.
- Lead contractual processes (NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, pricing agreements).
- Oversee tender responses and coordinate technical/operational input.
- Serve as main contact for customer accounts and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Prepare sales and revenue reports; maintain CRM accuracy.
- Ensure effective handover of secured work to operations for seamless deliver
Experience & Profile
- Experience in an accredited testing laboratory or related technical environment (preferred).
- 5+ years in sales management and key account management.
- Strong communicator and relationship builder.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
