Our client, a leading organisation in the Irish energy sector, is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to join their established finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance or economics professional to play a key role in supporting regulatory, commercial, and strategic decision-making across a complex and evolving energy network.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual regulated revenue and tariff submissions for approval by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU).
- Support the tariff reporting process and assist in price control reviews and budgeting cycles.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to analyse tariff and revenue outcomes.
- Evaluate commercial initiatives, assessing their financial and regulatory impact.
- Contribute to EU and national consultations and analyse implications of market and policy developments.
- Develop and review tariff structures for emerging areas such as biomethane, hydrogen, and CNG.
- Prepare and present commercial and regulatory papers, reports, and proposals.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ experience, ideally within the energy or utilities sector, with exposure to a regulated environment.
- Strong financial and numerical modelling skills in Excel, including advanced formulae and macros.
- Excellent analytical ability with a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex financial insights clearly.
