Purpose of Role
This is an important role and a unique opportunity to join the leading challenger in the Irish mortgage market at an exciting time. You will lead our first of defence work the mortgage business, working closely with commercial, operational and second line of defence colleagues to keep customers and the company safe and compliant.
Responsibilities will include:
You will lead management of our first line compliance activities, including:
· Product compliance: ensuring regulatory expectations are met across our customer collateral, product development & monitoring, working closely with our product managers.
· Operations compliance: oversight of operational control environment, including reviewing front line controls with our operational outsource provider. Working closely with our Operational Management team.
· Direct mortgage advisory compliance: assessing and supporting regulatory adherence of our direct mortgage sales team.
· Risk assessments: maintaining an appropriate understanding and control of the risk environment facing the mortgage business.
· Complaints: oversight for mortgage complaints, where appropriate managing, investigating, and managing customer responses, working with our centralized complaints team.
· Stakeholder engagement: engaging across the business as required, including with 2LOD and 3LOD colleagues
You will be required to contribute to the mortgage leadership team, working collaboratively, flexibly and at pace with a range of stakeholders to achieve our goals.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Irish or international retail banking compliance / first line of defence.
- Strong understanding of the Irish and EU regulatory environment for mortgages.
- Strong attention to detail with a record of contributing to demanding business targets.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently, with a focus on action and progress.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally.
- Strong communicator and adept at presenting to diverse groups up to senior management level.
