A great opportunity for an experienced Database Manager to join a leading organisation within the FS domain. We're looking for a hands-on leader with a strong track record in managing enterprise-scale database environments, both on-prem and in the cloud.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of database administrators and engineers, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure the effective operation of database systems across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Oversee database performance, optimization, and capacity planning.
- Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies.
- Coordinate and manage database upgrades, patches, and migrations..
- Stay abreast of emerging database technologies and evaluate their impact.
- Support vendor relationships and manage relevant contracts.
- Contribute to budgeting and resource planning for database initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- 7+ years in database administration roles, including 3+ years in a leadership capacity
- Strong experience with SQL Server and Oracle
- Expert in SQL
- In-depth knowledge of database security, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Proven track record managing large-scale, enterprise database environments
- Familiar with database design principles and data modeling
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Management, or similar
