JOB TITLE: Director, FP&A – European Commercial

JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Vice President, FP&A, the Director, FP&A European Commercial is a key member of the Financial Planning & Analysis organization supporting our European entities. This position will play a key role in providing our business partners with the information needed to support their strategic decision making. The financial support provided to our European business partners includes reporting results, budgeting / forecasting, financial modeling, and analytic and strategic support. A successful candidate has a strong understanding of financial fundamentals, experience building a commercial support processes/systems, is eager to learn, collaborative and detail oriented.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Trusted advisor to the Commercial Leadership team
• Lead and promote the adoption of standardized processes, tools, reporting, and dashboards
• Responsible management and final sign-off for the Financial Planning and Analysis processes for the European commercial organization, which include monthly and quarterly closes, quarterly budgeting and forecasting and management reporting; Ensure compliance with local government requirements
• Provide support and validation for Revenue forecasts; Sign-off on monthly gross-to-net revenue calculations
• Participate in the monthly / quarterly accounting close for European expenses and accruals
• Leads the monthly variance analysis of actuals to forecast and budget, explain, and investigate any major discrepancies and understand key business drivers for the European entities
• Providing strategic financial input and leadership to drive business performance, ensure team has clear understanding of the financial impact of key decisions, and ensure appropriate return on investment
• Identify and quantify the key risks and opportunities to the business in each forecasting cycle
• Lead management of the day-to-day finance related activities such as contract review, external vendor accruals, and payment tracking
• Perform ad hoc analysis to support strategy discussions and decisions, process improvement initiatives and other special projects as needed
• Continually focus on opportunities for process optimization, including opportunities for automation and simplification as we scale the business
• Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA or BS degree or Business Degree, prefer Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA), with 8-10 years of relevant progressive Finance or Accounting experience required. Biotech or pharmaceuticals industry experience is a plus
• Experience leading FP&A activities for commercial organization
• Able to extract pertinent data from ERP system to support above duties, comfortable working with large data sets and building comprehensive dashboard reports
• Experience implementing FP&A tools leading to process improvements
• Experience of working for multinational companies in a complex environment
• Fluency with analyzing and interpreting financial statements, including foreign currency impacts
• Strong analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills
• Adapts to change. Strives for continuous improvement
• Ability to complete projects timely and accurately
• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal (team player/ability to work cross functionally) skills required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
