Director – Transaction Services Financial Advisory Practice | Professional Services
Overview
A leading international advisory firm is seeking an experienced Director to join its Transaction Services team within the broader Financial Advisory practice. The team advises corporate clients, private equity investors and financial stakeholders across the full deal lifecycle, delivering high-quality financial due diligence and strategic transaction support.
The practice supports clients through acquisitions, disposals, refinancing, restructuring and complex business events, combining technical expertise with commercial insight to help protect and enhance value.
Key Responsibilities
As Director, you will take full ownership of transaction engagements and play a central role in client delivery and business development activities.
Transaction Execution
- Lead financial due diligence assignments on both buy-side and sell-side transactions
- Oversee engagement planning, risk assessment and execution across multiple concurrent deals
- Deliver clear, commercially focused reports highlighting key value drivers, risks and deal considerations
- Ensure all outputs meet rigorous professional and quality standards
Client Leadership
- Act as senior point of contact throughout engagements
- Build trusted relationships with private equity houses, corporate acquirers, lenders and advisors
- Provide strategic insight to support informed investment decisions
Business Development
- Originate new work through proactive relationship management and market engagement
- Develop and maintain strong referral networks across financial and legal advisors
- Prepare proposals, lead pitch meetings and contribute to conversion of new mandates
- Represent the practice at relevant industry and networking events
- Identify cross-service opportunities in collaboration with colleagues across advisory disciplines
Team & Practice Development
- Lead, mentor and develop managers and junior team members
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on technical excellence and client service
- Contribute to internal quality control and continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Significant experience in Transaction Services with strong exposure to financial due diligence
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience leading complex transactions across varied sectors and deal sizes
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial analytical capability
- Proven ability to originate and win new business
- Commercial judgement with the ability to identify key risks and value drivers
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing teams
- High attention to detail combined with strategic perspective
