Financial Accountant

My client, a Galway based manufacturing organisation, seeks to hire a new Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This is an interesting and varied role where the successful candidate will gain experience of working across all areas of Finance, mainly Costing, Financial and FP&A. This will suit a qualified accountant with 2+ years PQE, perhaps wanting to make the jump to industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Maintenance of the Costing section of our ERP System to include cost rolls, validation of new product costs.

·       Weekly production of cost variance reports and calculation of weekly Labour efficiencies

·       Production of weekly plant metrics and KPI’s.

·       Integral part of month end close process via journal calculation, processing and key balance sheet reconciliations.

·       Responsible for certain areas of variance analysis on departmental spend.

·       Manage the company cycle count program.

·       Have financial control of a small company in Netherlands to review level.

·       Maintain the Fixed Asset register and ensure all Capital spend is correctly accounted for.

REQUIREMENTS:

·       Recently qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA).

·       Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (spreadsheet, database) and ERP System

·       Problem-solving and analysis skills

·       High level of organisation and detail-orientation

·       Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative

·       A good attitude toward teamwork as well as the ability to work independently

·       Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritise

·       Excellent time management
