Electrical Engineer
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for an Electrical Engineer (PPTO Grade 7) to join their team on a temporary contract, with possibility of extension.
· Pay Rate - £32.05 per/hr
· Location – DoF, CPD Property Services - Clare House
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
The successful candidate will report to a Deputy Director (G6) in the provision of various aspects of Planned preventative maintenance and remedials works to Government Departments, Agencies and the wider public sector.
The key duties of a Principal Professional and Technical Officer (PPTO) Electrical Engineer (Multi-Disciplinary Team Lead) includes:
· Leading and managing for all staff and business activities within the multidisciplinary team, with responsibility for making key decisions on team workload, staff resources and the delegation of works.
· Leading and managing the provision of advice pertaining to the services delivered by the multidisciplinary team to Northern Ireland Departments, their Agencies and Non-Departmental Public Bodies.
· Leading and managing the provision of advice pertaining to the services delivered by the multidisciplinary team to Northern Ireland Departments, their Agencies and Non-Departmental Public Bodies.
· Leading and managing the provision of advice pertaining to the services delivered by the multidisciplinary team to Northern Ireland Departments, their Agencies and Non-Departmental Public Bodies.
· Leading and managing the procurement and management of external maintenance contractors and consultants.
· Leading and managing the monitoring and reporting on contract Key Performance Indicators.
· Acting as the lead PSD officer in relation to matters pertaining to electrical engineering
· Acting as the lead PSD officer in relation to matters pertaining to electrical engineering
· Responsibility for carrying out Post-Project Reviews on a representative sample of completed Works Projects and accountability for associated QA performance, in compliance with PSD’s Quality Assurance obligations.
· Representing senior management, as one of the three lead multidisciplinary team leads, on all Property Maintenance Framework Meetings and on all associated ICT Framework meetings, and other contractual meetings where applicable.
· Any other relevant duties as required by line management.
The above list is not exhaustive but gives a good indication of the main duties of a Principal Professional and Technical Officer (PPTO Multidisciplinary Team Lead (Electrical Engineering)) within CPD. The emphasis on particular duties will vary within each division and branch and may develop over time according to business needs.
Essential Experience/Qualifications
1. Be a current Chartered Electrical Engineer.
AND
2. Have at least 3 years’ experience in the design and delivery of electrical services within nondomestic buildings** with a total aggregate value of at least £1M per annum.
AND
3. Have at least 3 years’ experience of successfully leading a team of staff in the construction sector.
Relevant or Equivalent Qualifications
Applications will also be considered from applicants with relevant formal qualifications considered to be of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated.
