Trading Standards – Technical Grade 1
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Trading Standards (TG1 Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract, with possibility of extension.
· Pay Rate - £13.75 per/hr
· Location – Department for the Economy Trading Standards Service
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities will include:
· As a TG1, the post holder will provide practical support to the TSS Inspectorate and the wider organisation in the discharge of its functions under its statutory obligations. Support is in the form of maintaining equipment, procurement when required, and assisting with the preparation of visits before, during and after inspections at e.g. petrol stations, abattoirs, industrial premises, supermarkets, food retailers, licensed premises and bulk fuel (oil tankers) etc.
· The TG1 is responsible for driving TSS vehicles throughout Northern Ireland, this includes vans and lorries; and may also include forklifts and articulated HGV’s (if license is held).
· TG1s may be required to assist the UKAS laboratory manager with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the UKAS mass calibration laboratory.
Essential Experience/Qualifications
· An NVQ (Level 3) or equivalent in a mechanical, construction, manufacturing, engineering or industrial related subject.
AND
· A full current driving licence enabling the licence holder to drive vehicles in Northern Ireland.
Desired Experience/Qualifications
· Possess a Category CI licence and / or a Category C1 E driving licence.
Relevant or Equivalent Qualifications
Applications will also be considered from applicants with relevant formal qualifications considered to be of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated.
Relevant or equivalent qualifications: give the type of qualification and date awarded (the date awarded is the date on which you were notified of your result by the official awarding body).
