Procurement and Operations Specialist - Cork
Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the construction and mechanical services sector, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Procurement and Operations Specialist to support workshop, stores and project operations.
This is a key position within the business, responsible for ensuring efficient material management, accurate stock control, effective procurement processes and strong administrative coordination across multiple project sites. The role also plays an important part in supporting the company’s safety management systems and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day order processing, packing and dispatch of materials.
- Source, negotiate and purchase materials both within and outside the EU.
- Prepare, issue and maintain purchase orders, liaising with project managers, contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery across multiple sites.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring cost efficiency, quality standards and on-time delivery while resolving invoice or supply-related queries.
- Conduct regular stock takes and oversee inventory management within the workshop and stores.
- Manage PPE stock levels and coordinate inspection and renewal of safety equipment.
- Reconcile orders with delivery dockets to maintain accurate records.
- Support operational planning by assisting with material and manpower coordination across sites.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong procurement and stock control awareness.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and office systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive and flexible approach.
