We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our welcoming nursing home in Carna, County Galway, providing high-quality, person-centred care to older people in a long-term residential setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about elderly care, values dignity and respect, and enjoys working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team in a beautiful Connemara location.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high standards of nursing care to older persons
- Ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Medication management and clinical documentation
- Supporting residents with dementia care, palliative care, and end-of-life care
- Adhering to HIQA standards and nursing home policies
- Communicating effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Supervising and supporting healthcare assistants as required
Requirements
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMBI registration
- Experience working in a nursing home or elderly care setting desirable
- Knowledge of person-centred care and care planning
- Strong communication, clinical, and organisational skills
- A caring, professional, and reliable approach to nursing
