Senior Automation Engineer

Purpose of the Role

A senior-level engineering role responsible for leading automation strategy and execution in a manufacturing environment. The position focuses on delivering robust, standardized, and future-ready automation systems aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the site's Operational Technology (OT) strategy, including digital and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Ensure all automation projects align with strategic and operational objectives.
• Oversee third-party vendors and ensure compliance with internal automation standards.
• Manage the lifecycle of OT infrastructure, including system upgrades, replacements, and retirements.
• Maintain availability, compliance, and performance of automation systems.
• Support team development and alignment with best practices across sites.

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 5+ years in automation within a manufacturing or operations environment.
• Experience with Siemens PLCs, SCADA, OSIsoft PI, and related systems.
• Knowledge of GAMP, ISA S88/S95, PackML, and regulatory compliance (21 CFR Part 11, cGMP).
• Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience in software validation and lifecycle management.
