About the role:
Our client is looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to join their organisation and manage a team of up to 10 developers. This is a hybrid role which would require two days per week on site. The organisation has a team of three Software Development Managers at present in their Cork base. The company has employees who operate in over 40 countries across the globe. This promises to be both a challenging and rewarding opportunity for the right person. The ideal candidate will have had extensive experience in product release planning and management. The profile within the Software team includes: Software Architects, Software Developers, Software Testers, Requirements Engineers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches. The successful candidate will be working closely with the Scrum Team and Product Owners as they ensure the implementation of new technology.
Key Role Responsibilities:
· Extensive experience in producing high-quality software, leading successful teams, and communicating effectively at all levels of the organization
· They must be flexible and adaptable to change and possess in-depth knowledge of SDLC methodologies
· Experience working within an Agile environment using the Scrum Framework
· Experience working with Product Management and Product Owners to groom backlogs
· Extensive working with Agile engineering practices like Test Automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), DevOps, etc.
· Experience with public or private cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure
· Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Java, C++, Javascript, React, Redux, Springboot, AWS
· Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business
Essential Criteria
· Degree in computer science or IT/Software Development/Engineering related field
· 8+ years Software Development experience
· 2+ years Software Development Management or Program Management experience
