The Role
You are an experienced infrastructure automation engineer with significant production operations experience. Who has led high performing teams or you have a desire to grow into a leadership role. You understand how to build and nurture high performing engineering teams, establish agile and lean practices and create a data driven culture.As an automation engineer and a leader of a site reliability engineering team you strive to reduce toil and automate as much as possible. Aiming to provide a self service model for the development teams that depend on you. You have a broad interest in and understanding of the current relevant trends across areas such as Cloud Computing, Continuous Delivery, Dev Ops, infrastructure and application architecture. You are passionate about continuous improvement, unrelenting in identifying and addressing things which slow teams down or reduce their ability to deliver high quality software.
You understand the full lifecycle of the software delivery process and are able to communicate effectively how to iteratively refine requirements to ensure work is presented to the team as a consolidated
Skills
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field or equivalent practical hands on experience- 3-5 years professional experience in a software management position.
- Direct production operations experience in a cloud environment.
- Experience contributing to technology and product strategy.
- Proven experience with hiring, team building and personnel management including staff, contractors and vendors.
- Experience leading capability building initiatives across diverse areas such as infrastructure and operations automation, software quality, delivery automation and other core engineering.
- Demonstrated experience of driving operational efficiency and transparency of a growing engineering organization.
