Supply Chain Manager
Department: Food Production
Reporting to: Operations Director
A new opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Manager to take full responsibility for the supply chain function, including ordering, production planning, and warehousing. This role plays a key part in optimising costs, improving efficiency, and supporting overall business goals.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will contribute to business strategy, manage end-to-end materials and product flow, develop systems and processes (including ERP), and lead a culture of continuous improvement within the Supply Chain and Warehouse teams. This role will support the organisation’s growth ambitions by establishing and developing Supply Chain operations to a high standard.
Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Leadership
- Contribute to strategy development to ensure high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.
- Take responsibility for end-to-end management of materials, products, and warehouse operations.
- Develop systems and processes to improve performance metrics.
- Establish and develop Supply Chain functions to support business growth.
- Optimise stock holding of materials and finished goods.
- Develop the team and promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Warehouse Management
- Ensure safe, efficient, and effective warehouse operations.
- Work with the Warehouse Supervisor to manage inbound and outbound logistics.
- Implement best practice across all warehouse functions.
- Ensure accurate and secure inventory management.
- Coordinate effectively with other departments.
Inbound Raw Materials
- Ensure timely ordering of raw materials in line with production requirements.
- Oversee order quantities, delivery terms, and supplier performance.
- Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers and freight companies.
- Monitor supplier contracts and performance.
- Support the Sales & Operational Planning process.
Production Planning
- Lead the planning function to maximise production efficiencies while meeting customer expectations.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of operations; may be required to complete production plans.
Logistics
- Work with internal and external logistics providers to ensure cost-effective, efficient operations.
- Communicate transport issues promptly and minimise disruption.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Align Supply Chain objectives with other departments.
- Communicate and report Supply Chain performance metrics.
Safety & Culture
- Ensure a safe working environment.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure timely close-out of near misses and incidents.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, and Hygiene standards.
- Keep the warehouse in an audit-ready state.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Supply Chain team

Education & Experience
- Third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a Warehouse or Logistics environment.
- Experience working in a Food/Drinks/Pharma production environment desirable
- Experience working in a Lean environment is an advantage.
