Customer Relations Manager
Our client, a high-profile company based in west Co. Limerick are seeking an experienced Customer Relations Manager to join their team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Customer Relations Manager is a new role tasked with developing and managing the existing and future customer base.
The company’s customer base extends across many sectors including the industrial, energy, agricultural, recyclable, and renewable sectors to name some.
Consequently, it facilitates a diverse trade mix in the dry bulk, liquid bulk, and break-bulk categories. Importantly the company not only facilitates the movement of trade but is developing as a large-scale distribution and industrial hub, supporting large-scale capital-intensive industry.
This role is focussed on ensuring that the company meets the ongoing needs of existing customers, supporting the development of their businesses by providing new and/or improved customer offerings and services. To this end, it is necessary to build stronger relationships with the customer base and work with them to develop mutually beneficial solutions/services and offerings.
The role requires an individual with the desire and ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships, and in doing so identify potential opportunities for the Shannon Estuary which they will develop in conjunction with the other members of the senior management team. This is a role which requires a strong business focus, with well-developed customer relationship management and key account management skills.
Key Responsibilities include:
Develop strong relationships with key customer contacts in the existing primary and downstream customer base, at buyer, key influencer, and management levels.
Meet, define, and understand each customers requirement. Ensure that their needs are being met and where appropriate document, resolve and/or escalate issues that are having a negative impact.
Ensure that each customer has a full understanding of the company’s abilities and capabilities and identify any and all potential opportunities where the company can help develop existing or new business.
Identify new opportunities to provide additional services to these customers, through direct contact with customers; market sector understanding and statistical analysis using sources such as CSO data.
Advise on and implement competitive pricing strategy for all customers.
Maximise trade loyalty and two-way communication.
Maintain the CRM System for the company.
Manage and adapt the system so that it becomes the focal point for all customer engagement and business development.
Maintain historical and current key customer data including and not limited to existing contractual agreements and pricing.
Provide a closed loop feedback process to manage the customer communications and engagement.
Assist the finance team in compiling budget and forecast projections.
Develop reporting metrics and KPIs to drive results and provide a reporting platform for the CEO and the management team.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the senior management team, this role will require:
A person who is goal driven and eager to develop and succeed.
Proven networking, communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to interact and foster relationships effectively at all levels with an organisation.
Experience in negotiations which includes demonstrating empathy and maintaining good relationships while also maintaining a company position.
Comfortable with significant amounts of national travel and some international travel
Skills & Experience that we need:
Proven track record of success in customer relationship management or in a sales environment such as Agri sales
Well-developed skills in data analysis for customer development purposes
Ideally, but not essentially, past experience in trade, logistics or the shipping industry
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ideally Degree level qualification in Marketing/Business, alternatively a minimum of 10 years proven track record in key aspects of customer relationship management or a sales environment.
The Offer:
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of approx. €50K- €60K per annum, depending on the candidate’s experience, with scope for higher for an exceptional candidate, with an excellent benefits package.
