On behalf of our Industrial manufacturing plant in Co Limerick, we are current sourcing a DCS Automation Engineering.
One of the key enablers at the refinery is the automation systems. The refinery has an extensive Distributive Control System (DCS), PLCs, Safety Control Systems and specialist automation systems for the on-site power generation assets. The DCS Team provides process control engineering support for refinery operations and capital projects. The team ensures refinery process control objectives are met through tuning, development of control strategies and troubleshooting existing multi-variable control configurations for continuous operations in refinery process units. You will work with a variety of departments including Operations, Process Engineering, Reliability Engineering and Maintenance as well as outside consultants and vendors.
Job requirements:
Minimum undergraduate degree in chemical, electrical, automation or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 7 years’ process or process controls engineering experience in petrochemical or mineral refining industry required.
• Demonstrable expertise in at least one of the following areas:
• Process Control Infrastructure
• PLS (Siemens / Allen Bradley /Rockwell)
• DCS (Honeywell and/or GE Mark VI preferably)
• Cyber protection solutions
• Data modelling in heavy industry
• Excellent process analytical skills.
• Out-going and self-driven, able to interact with people in all areas and at all levels of the organisation.
The role will involve:
• Implementing minor changes to the existing DCS system (normal process additions or changes).
• Bringing new levels of automation to the plant and maximising the utilisation of existing systems.
• Participating with other plant teams to support refinery activities such as process unit alarm management defect elimination, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC).
• Problem solving, data modelling and project management would all be key elements of the position.
• Future-proofing existing Process Controls Infrastructure (DCS, PLCs and advanced instrumentation).
Normal working hours are 8:00-16:30, however the successful candidate would be on-call (after 12 months) for issues arising one week in four.
The above role is initially a 2 year contract with a view to going permanent. (standard for all new hires)
