Civil Engineering Technician
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Civil Engineering Technician (TG1/AO Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract, with possibility of extension.
· Pay Rate - £12.97 per/hr
· Location – DfI, Ards & North Down Maintenance Team
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities will include:
· Ensuring that public roads and footways are inspected to schedule and to identify defects for repair in accordance with Road Maintenance Standards for Safety and to provide a statutory defence in public liability claims.
· Dealing with public complaints within a reasonable timescale.
· Checking and supervision of work carried out by the internal and external contractor.
· Meeting established targets with regard to inspections of work carried out by utility companies.
· General Office duties.
Essential Experience/Qualifications
· Level 3 / ONC in Civil Engineering (Or equivalent approved)
AND
· A full current driving licence enabling the licence holder to drive vehicles in Northern Ireland and access to a form of transport.
Desired Experience/Qualifications
· General experience of road maintenance and building / civil engineering construction.
Relevant or Equivalent Qualifications
Applications will also be considered from applicants with relevant formal qualifications considered to be of an equivalent or higher standard to those stated.
