As a Content Specialist you will be asked to surface the best content and conversations on a text based social media platform, with a specific focus on algorithmically sourced trending topics. The ideal candidate will have excellent editorial judgment, a strong command of social media, and a deep understanding of trending news and topics, as well as how they inform social conversations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Review a range of content and topics, including news and entertainment from a diverse set of users, publishers, broadcasters, public figures, creators and influencers.
•Identify and contextualize cultural trends and current affairs across a broad spectrum of themes.
•Apply review guidelines to content at scale, maintaining commitment to accuracy and consistency.
•Use editorial skills to identify edge cases or guidelines questions, escalating open questions or potential misalignments.
•Learn and use internal editorial tools and communications systems.
•Oversee selection decisions and respond to questions regarding guidelines or edge cases.
•Collaborate with our internal teams to improve user experience.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate has previous experience in effectively coping with a fast-paced, high-pressure role in a constantly changing business environment. They will be client orientated, enthusiastic, courteous, assertive, and motivated.
Essential competencies needed for this role are:
High Proficiency in English – C1 Level minimum as per the CEFR.
•Educational background, undergraduate university degree. Diverse representation across a domain required by the business and listed in the job advertisement is necessary.*
•Understanding common social norms (Social dynamics, social media, popular culture)
*Required domains/fields: Biology, Law, Literature and Linguistics, Marketing, Public Relations, Mathematics, Medicine, Nutrition and Culinary, Philosophy, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology and Sociology, Religion, Business Management / Master of Business Administration, Chemistry, Computer Science, Creative Writing, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Economics and Finance, History, Journalism and more.
Other competencies required for the role are:
•Proven experience in social media, editorial, content creation, journalism or digital media
•Deep knowledge of the social media landscape, user generated content and text-focused conversation platforms.
•Experience with social discovery and/or social listening tools.
•Skills in editorial strategy and understanding of what makes digital content engaging and relevant.
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong orthography and grammar skills.
•Foreign language skills are a plus.
Salary: €34,000 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)
Location: Nova Atria, Blackthorn Road, Sandyford Business Park, Dublin 18
Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Sunday (including Bank Holidays). Some weekend work is also required.
