Data Entry and Validation Officer
Location: Dublin (Hybrid)
Contract: 12 month contract
Salary: €45,777 per annum
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Network Trust, the role will support the team’s work by ensuring the accurate collection, entry, validation, maintenance and documentation of datasets relating to electronic communications networks and services, incidents, and industry reporting.
The postholder will play a key operational role in maintaining high-quality, reliable data that underpins analysis, reporting, compliance monitoring and regulatory decision-making across the Network Trust function. This role is primarily focused on data operations, quality assurance and process adherence, rather than advanced data modelling or economic analysis.
The successful candidate will work closely with economists, technical specialists and policy staff, supporting the day-to-day handling of structured and semi-structured data received from industry and other stakeholders.
The Data Entry and Validation Officer will:
- Review data submitted by operators and/or regulated entities in order to update and maintain datasets.
- Conduct data validation and quality checks, including completeness, consistency, plausibility and reconciliation against source documents.
- Identify, log and escalate data anomalies, inconsistencies or missing information, and liaise with internal colleagues to resolve issues.
- Ensure data handling activities comply with data governance policies, confidentiality requirements and information management standards.
- Provide operational support to the wider Network Trust team as required, including ad-hoc data checks and administrative support related to regulatory projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned, appropriate to the role.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- A level 7 qualification in data management, business administration, information systems, statistics, economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrable experience (minimum 1–2 years) in a role involving data entry, data validation, data quality assurance or data administration.
- Strong attention to detail, with a proven ability to work accurately with large or complex datasets.
- Experience working with Excel (including formulas, data validation tools and structured tables).
- Ability to follow defined procedures, apply validation rules consistently and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience working with regulatory, technical, operational or compliance data.
- Experience working with PowerBI.
- Experience supporting data governance activities, record-keeping or audit processes.
- Experience working in a public sector or regulated environment.
- An interest in data quality, data integrity and process improvement.
