Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the day-to-day Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) function of the business.
- Implement and maintain EHS policies, strategies, procedures, and training to company standards.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, legislative, and certification requirements while promoting a positive safety culture.
- Manage and maintain Safe T-Cert, including auditing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Project Management and Administration teams to integrate and streamline Quality, Health & Safety systems using Procore (cloud-based project and safety management software).
- Prepare and issue Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Site-Specific Safety Statements, and Construction Stage Plans.
- Support and manage subcontractor safety compliance and integration with company operations and safety culture.
- Organise and conduct regular site Quality, Health & Safety meetings, with reporting to senior management.
- Deliver EHS training for employees, sole traders, and contractors.
- Carry out regular inspections and audits of sites, offices, and warehouse facilities.
- Provide support for tender applications.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures.
- Assist in setting company EHS objectives and achieving KPIs within realistic timeframes.
Requirements
- Health & Safety Degree or relevant professional qualification.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry (essential).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver internal Health & Safety management training.
- Confident user of MS Office.
- Experience with ISO standards is an advantage.
